The garden near the house is home for our hens- funny how the cats NEVER go inside the fence. Actually, they avoid any eye contact with the chickens!!

I grow a variety of cone flowers, sunflowers, roses, lilies, irises. The raised beds have herbs, tomatoes, raspberries, blackberries- depending on the season. Several varieties of blueberries grow along the fence as well. The chicken manure is truly an unbelievable fertilizer!

Spring in the garden-

For the South, Arkansas has surprisingly cold and long winters- chickens stay nice and warm in the coop!

Thanks to a good mix of flowers in with the vegetables, we have a great supply of pollinators.

My favorite flower- the cone flower- with a perfect subject to photograph.
